Mancini retains belief in City bid

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini remains confident that his side can retain their Premier League title, despite a 3-2 derby defeat at home to Manchester United. The Citizens, now 3.00 to retain their crown, fell six points adrift of United as a result of their loss at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, but Mancini was not too downbeat about his side's prospects for the coming months.

He told reporters: "Even though we have lost this game we have shown we can win the title this year. "It is clear we need to work hard and stop making mistakes. We can't continue to go one or two goals behind because it is difficult to recover. "We have a good spirit. Now we need to win four or five matches in a row."

United are now 1.53 to wrest the title away from their Manchester rivals and are 7.50 to complete a Double by winning the FA Cup as well. Meanwhile, Everton boss David Moyes, whose side are 4.50 to finish in the top four this season, was delighted with a late show which clinched a 2-1 home win over Spurs.

The three points moved the Toffees up into fourth place, with Moyes saying: "The position doesn't shame the way the players have been playing, they have been doing that well. "But we could quite easily have slipped out and been in the bottom half of the league. It feels good but we have to make sure we maintain that." Don't forget all Premier League matches are covered by the bet365 100% Euro Soccer Bonus, where you could earn a bonus of up to 100% on your returns on pre-match accumulator bets.
